God assured her that one day He would restore her joy.

Rejoicing in the Morning

One tragic event after another nearly buried Victoria Peagler in grief. Her hope was nearly snuffed out. She looks back at 1988 as the most cataclysmic period of her life. First, she lost a very close friend. Then her mother was killed by a hit-and-run driver. Two months later, her husband of 20 years divorced her and married her best friend.

Victoria prayed and wept before the Lord, seeking solutions to all her crises. As she began searching the Scriptures, the Lord spoke powerfully to her through Psalm 30:5—“Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” God assured her that one day He would restore her joy. God showed her that His main concern was for Victoria to develop a deeper relationship with Him—to find His purpose and destiny for her life.

As she has grieved all her losses, she has found the Father’s love sustaining her. She is truly discovering this promise from the Lord:  “Rejoicing comes in the morning.” If you’re going through a time of weeping, may Victoria’s story become your story. I pray that in your trials, you will seeks the Lord’s face and discover His will. If you stay focused on Jesus, one day your dark night will pass, and you can find His joy in the morning.
