        The crucial question to ask is, “why so much interest in angels...and not God? ” One reason may be that many people believe they can’t approach God. And yet they feel that angels can relate to them. Whatever you may think of angels, you can be assured of this: there's a deep spiritual longing in the hearts of Americans.

        Now there’s nothing wrong in asking God to have his angels watch over you. Just make sure you never substitute them for Jesus. As Hebrews says, God came near through the once-for-all sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Therefore, “let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith... ” (Hebrews 10:22, NIV).
