Did you know... an estimated 500,000 tons of water rush over Niagara Falls every minute? Isnt that amazing? However, on March 29, 1948, the falls suddenly ceased flowing.
People living within the sound of the falls were awakened by the deafening silence. It was an event they had never experienced in their lives. As a result, many believed that it was a sign that the world was coming to an end.
In much the same way, the flow of Gods mercy and grace can be stopped by a cold indifference in our lives. Jesus once spoke to the crowd and said, If any man is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in me as the Scripture said, from his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water (John 7:37-38 NASV).
As we praise and thank God and as we live and serve others, people witness our passion, joy, and love for Christ. We let Gods mercy and grace flow to us and flow through us to others. We help the flow of Gods grace and mercy to others. Lets not let cold indifference, to God or to others, block this flow of mercy and grace through our lives to others.
