Filled Filled

I understand that Evangelist Dwight L Moody once held up an empty glass before an audience and asked, “How can I get the air out of the glass?” Someone said, “You get it out with a vacuum pump.”

Moody responded, “Oh, no. If you reach a perfect vacuum, the sides will cave in and the glass will break.” Then, as the crowd watched closely, he picked up a pitcher and poured water into the glass until it ran over, and he said, “Now there is no more air in the glass.”

Only fullness will satisfy and truly fill what is empty.
His point that evening with the illustration was that you don’t dispel emptiness with more emptiness. Only fullness will satisfy and truly fill what is empty.

It was Paul’s prayer that the Ephesian believers “Know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”  (Ephesians 3:18b-19).

Deep within our hearts is a God like shape, no heart is too big, no heart is too small, Jesus is the answer, he fits them all. Only with the love of Jesus filling our lives will we be filled with the fullness of God. The emptiness will not he dispelled with those things of this world that are empty.
