Long Answer: Phil Ware is co-editor of HEARTLIGHT Magazine, and authors
the prayers and commentaries for Today's Verse. It's a huge task requiring
daily thought and prayer, along with some helping from the Spirit, of
course! You can find out more about Phil at this
page.
What
is Heartlight?
Short Answer: The best Christian site on the planet. (at least, we
think so!)
Long Answer: Heartlight is an on line e-zine and ministry that offers
free e-cards, daily articles, award winning Scripture graphics, music,
and an on line Christian store along with a host of other resources.
Our mission is to provide positive resources to help believers live
for Jesus in today's world and Today's Verse is one of those resources.
How
many people read Today's Verse every day?
Short Answer: A whole lot.
Long Answer: Today's Verse is mailed out to about 41,000 people each
day from HEARTLIGHT and another 60,000+ from Crosswalk (the Crosswalk
version is last year's version of Today's Verse, the Heartlight version
is new this year). In addition, we know many of you forward Today's
Verse on to friends, and quite a few newspapers and Christian radio
stations have contacted us for permission to use Today's Verse as part
of their ministry. So, we're not sure exactly how many, but it's more
than we ever dreamed!
How
can I find a specific verse or prayer?
Short Answer: Search!
Long Answer: All of the Today's Verse devotionals from 1998-Present
are in archives that are fully searchable by going to http://www.heartlight.org/cgi-shl/todaysverse.cgi.
Find the search form on the lower left side of the page, and then type
in a Scripture reference or key words into the search window.
How
do you choose which verses to do?
Short Answer: It depends.
Long Answer: Today's Verse was begun when Zondervan Publishing sent
us Scriptures for a year of daily devotionals. That is our Year One
Today's Verse list. For Year Two, we selected Scriptures based upon
the key events on the calendar and chose other verses that we found
particularly appropriate. The Year Three list (for 2000) is a Scripture
reference that corresponds to the date (example: Genesis 1:1 for 01/01).
For 2001, we will use the verses suggested by you, our readers. Send
suggestions to todaysverse-suggestions@heartlight.org.
How
do I unsubscribe from the mailing list?
Short Answer: Follow instructions.
Long Answer: Near the bottom of the email you get you'll find some clear
instructions for unsubscribing. Just follow them, and you'll be off
the list, no questions asked!
How
can I help support this ministry?

Long Answer: Today's Verse is a ministry of Heartlight, Inc., a non-profit
organization. Donations are welcome, encouraged, and tax-deductible!
