Building a Forever Family: Allegiance

The Cleavers go to church!? Why?

Crisis in marriages/families has led
churches to o help and
families to s it.
  --loss of e family
  --peer s for couples in
    troubled times
  --place of a
    cultural values
  --peer group for c
    to have for "good" friends
  --r to help on
    family and marriage matters

Something i i
is missing from this list!

What does the N.T. actually have to say?

Get ready for some s news--

It is s how l
is actually said!
  --many of the r topics
    are not directly addressed
  --very s, black
    and white
--not a p focus at all

This is d divorce,
promiscuity, and extramarital sex being
very real problems.

  --maybe we've missed the k
    emphasis?
  --maybe we're just putting Band-Aids
    on g wounds

When we look carefully at the N.T., we
find three c messages
instead of the family:
1. S all we have and
are to the Kingdom of God.

2. The cross teaches us the importance
   of s to redeem
   others.

3. The Resurrection reminds us of the
   Spirit's power to c and
   remake us.

It is s what is
actually said!

  --an almost a tone?
the call of the Kingdom may actually
    i stress
	it did cause stress in
      J family
it did cause stress in the
      f Christians families

--but it is not anti-family, it is
    F FAMILY!
there is a higher good than my
      h--Eph 5:21
there is a higher goal than my
      h--1 Thess 4:13-18

God must be our primary g
and the source of our ultimate
f.

We must not worship the f
above the F!

So how will the Cleavers going to
church help their family?

  1. live by K
     values.

  2. S their wills to the
needs of each other to honor Christ.

  3. Let the Spirit t
     and empower their lives together.
