Whatever Became of Sin?


    Not long ago, I had occassion to share in a round-table discussion with a number of psychologists at Albert Einstein Medical School. When I mentioned “morals” or “virtues,” almost all of them replied something like, “Well, everybody to his own thing.”

    The strong impression from them was, “There is no system by which we can ascertain right from wrong. It just depends on each person’s internal moral compass—if he has a moral compass.

    But then, you know our country was founded on some strong morals, even religious principles. Whatever became of them? The famous psychiatrist, Dr. Karl Meninger, asked the best question when he said, “Whatever became of sin?”

    It’s time—it’s past time—for us to go back to those principles of life best found in the Bible. So let’s make the rest of the day a little better: spend some time in the Word.
