Spending Time Where it Counts

Sometimes we tend to overlook the most obvious and important part of a relationship. When people talk to me about developing intimacy in a relationship, they sometimes fail to consider the importance of just simply being together. Being together in Christ—it creates intimacy…it’s unavoidable.

My wife, Gladys, and I have spent around 377,000 hours in our 43 years of marriage. Thousands of hours of time together, and most of these were just ordinary days. Some stressful days, and then some super special, out-of-sight days as well. Truth is, the day-in, day-out sharing of thoughts and ideas—the events—have given us a calm and a peace and a serenity with each other, a deep pleasure in the presence of God to enjoy what no king could purchase.

Let’s make the rest of the day work a little better for us by putting our most constant resource—time—in the place where it counts the most.
