    One thing for sure that we all know, although we don’t like to talk about it, is that we don’t get out of this life alive. It’s like the old joke — only two things are certain in this life, death and taxes. Laugh about it with false bravado, try to improve it, pretend it won’t happen to us, but none of these things change the facts.

    Where can we get the power to face death in a way that gives meaning to our lives? Where does a man get hope and purpose and the courage to deal with adversities in his life?

    The apostle Paul said, “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? Thanks be to God, who gives the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

    You can share in the victory over death that gives life forever. Your life can have purpose, your life can have meaning when it is lived beyond yourself; when it’s lived in his kingdom.
