Dr. Paul FaulknerWe Need Realistic Limits, by Dr. Paul Faulkner   Real Audio

A recent study of schoolchildren found something very interesting when looking at the behavior of two groups during recess. The difference was one group had a fence around the playground and the other did not.

Researchers found that one group was less agressive, used more of the playground area, was more cooperative and showed less tension in the classroom after recess. Guess which group—the one with the fence, or the one without?

You’re right if you guessed the one that had limits—a fence! This is just the way God made human beings; we all need limits. Realistic limits somehow give us a feeling of security.

The book of Proverbs was written to teach discipline, along with wisdom. The word “disciple” comes from discipline—exactly what we need to become children of God!
