Enthusiasm
by Brent Nidiffer and Jamie Shell
Enthusiasm is contagious. It's difficult to remain neutral or indifferent in the presence of a positive thinker. Be enthusiastic today about every area of your life -- your family, your friends, your co-workers, your work, your hobbies, your church, but especially your dreams and your potential to achieve them.
Many of the Bible's greatest individuals were overflowing with enthusiasm. One of them, the apostle Paul, tried to pass that excitement to his fellow Christians when he wrote "Finally, brethren, whatever is true... honorable... right... pure... lovely... of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things" (Philippians 4:8 NASB). Enthusiasm fuels hope and joy.
People gravitate toward a person who radiates the hope and joy only Jesus offers, bringing with them unique opportunities, sound advice, and valuable resources. Today, strive to be a person of enthusiasm by focusing on the higher things of God and where he is taking us. We may not have arrived yet, but I sure like our destination when we get to the end of the journey (cf. Philippians 3:12-21). Now that's something I can be enthusiastic about!
