God Will Come

    by Paul Faulkner

Spending time in meditation with God is not unlike a person trying to recover from a serious illness. He tries to walk, but he can't take more than a step or two before he's got to sit down. He continues exercising until he can walk further and further, until the time comes when he wants to run. And because of an innate ability that God gave him to run, he wants to be restored to full health, and the joy of walking and running at full steam.

And those of us that are starting out in Christianity find our prayers short and meditation difficult. As we keep exercising our meditative spirit and keep praying, we'll gradually develop more and more ability to pray. We'll become more thoughtful, more compassionate, and our worldview opens up as our understanding of God enlarges. Then finally we find ourselves running to spend time with God and His Word and in His presence.

Just be patient with yourself and God will come and grow in your life beyond your fondest expectation!
