Who Is This Man? - Luke 8:24-25
The followers went to Jesus and woke him. They said, "Master! Master! We will drown!" Jesus got up. He gave a command to the wind and the waves. The wind stopped, and the lake became calm. Jesus said to his followers, "Where is your faith?" The followers were afraid and amazed. They said to each other, "What kind of man is this? He commands the wind and the water, and they obey him!" The question answers itself! Only the Creator controls creation. No human can. Only God can bring calm to the storm and bring order out of chaos. This Jesus is more than a man; he is the Creator in human flesh! His words must be met with faith and obedience. His words bring grace, mercy, and peace!
Today's Prayer
Almighty God, the Father of all, I praise you for your creation. I confess that my mind cannot adequately grasp all that it means for Jesus to be fully you and yet to have come in the limitations of human flesh. Yet I praise you for that grace and I offer you my life in obedience to your gift. In Jesus' name. Amen.
