Supporting the Savior - Luke 8:1-3

The next day, Jesus traveled through some cities and small towns. Jesus told the people a message from God, the Good News about God's kingdom. The twelve apostles were with him. There were also some women with him. Jesus had healed these women of sicknesses and evil spirits {from the devil}. One of the women was named Mary Magdalene. Seven demons had come out of her. Also with these women were: Joanna, the wife of Chuza (Herod's helper), Suzanna, and many other women. These women used their own money to help Jesus and his apostles. (ERV) Full Text

    Key Thought

Many Bible students have never thought about how Jesus and his disciples paid for the ministry needs. Luke lets his readers know. Women who accompanied him and the 12, along with others, helped fund the Savior and his disciples. Today, many ministries and mission efforts that do the work of Christ go wanting because they cannot find financial support. Others who do continue to minister have to give up valuable time and energy to keep their work supported. Please, think about helping keep the Lord's work on track by offering your support and thanks to the Lord's work today.
