God's Power in You

    It's interesting to see how Jesus prepared his disciples to go out and preach. He gave them authority and power to cast out demons and cure diseases, and he commissioned them to preach the kingdom of God.

    He also told them, "Now don't load yourself down with equipment, please. Keep it simple. You are the equipment. No extra clothes, no luxury inns. Find a modest place and be content there until you leave."

    I love that! It's not the house you own, it's not the car you drive, it's not your Mont Blanc pen or your fancy computer -- YOU are the equipment. It's God in you, working through your faith, your spirit, your attitudes.

    If you want to have great kids, keep it simple. Teach them where the power is. It's not on the outside, it's intrinsic, it's inside.

    We know that, but boy it's tough to remember. It's God's power in you.
