What Was God Like?

This God-man called Jesus is such a mystery. Half of the New Testament that was written about him omits much that would interest us today. They skip over nine tenths of his life.

    None of them says a word about his physical description, and I'd really like to know more about that -- what was his shape, how tall was he, what was the color of his eyes, what did he look like? We only know that he was a Jew. We know just a few things about his childhood; some scholars even fuss about whether he had brothers or sisters.

    Maybe that tells us something. Maybe those things that count so much to us, don't count much to God.

    What you do read about Jesus is his amazing consistency in loving God and serving man. And maybe that's what counts most of all -- loving God and serving others.
