What's in It for Me?

You see these extreme skiers or extreme athletes who seem to walk on the very edge of life and death like it was meaningless.

But, there are others who appear to walk through life in a daze, doing only what they have to do. Instead of infusing life with power and joy, they seem to suck it dry. They pull all the energy from the people they meet, because they always want more than they give.

They are "takers" — always asking, "What’s in it for me?" And they somehow feel that life owes them.

Both groups of people have the same basic approach to life: grab everything you can, whether it's excitement, or getting what's "due" to you.

The truth is, this is your only chance on life here. You had better keep your eye on what's really important. And Jesus will help you do that, if you'll keep your eye on Him!

[Jesus said] "I came that they [my followers] may have life, and have it abundantly" (John 10:10).
