Respecting Mom

A little boy's mother once told him that it was God who makes people good. He looked at her and said, "Yes, I know it's God ... but mommies help a lot!"

How true that is. Mothers just innately seem to be on the look out for ways to help children be good adults. Moms are natural nurturers, lovers, and caretakers.

Glen Wheeler said, "Through the ages, no nation has had a better friend than the mother who taught her child to pray." Wow! It's true. Mothers bless nations through the way they direct, pray for, and teach their children.

The wise man in the Old Testament wrote, "... do not forsake your mother's teaching." (Proverbs 6:20 NRS) It's important to give mothers all the respect and support we can. Our children, and in turn our nation, will reap enormous benefits.

Let your father and your mother be glad, And let her rejoice who gave birth to you. (Proverbs 23:25 NAS)
