I was watching TV and a commercial came on advertising a Vacation Resort. It sure did look attractive. It was sunny and warm with sandy beaches. They would pamper you and provide all you needed. At the end they said, "Like heaven, without the long term commitment."

Isn't that like a lot of us? We want to experience heaven and all of the wonderful things there, but we seem to come up short on the long term commitment.

I heard a preacher on the radio recently say that many of us have "faced" God but not "embraced" God. Many of us have "accepted" Jesus but never "surrendered" to Him. Many of us have "admitted" that we were sinners but never "repented" of our sins.

Let’s remember after all that "He is God." He is to be awed and revered. He created all and will judge all. Let’s recognize and submit to His Lordship.

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)
