"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."

Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:1-6, NIV)

Father, we do know the way. We know that coming to You means following your Son. We know that there is no other way. We know that Your Son is the "Way, the truth, and the life." We know it, but too often we choose another way.

We know You are the way, yet we choose our own way. We go the way we want to go. We do the things we want to do. We live the way we want to live.

We know You are the way, yet we choose the way of the world. We go the way of the world in our relationships. We go the way of the world in our work. We go the way of the world in our private lives.

We know You are the way, yet we go our way when it comes to spirituality. We want our worship to be the way we like it. We want the Scriptures to say the things we want them to say. We want to obey in a way that is convenient for us. We want to surrender our way. We want to serve our way. We want to sacrifice our way. We want to give our way. We want to minister to others our way.

We know You are the way, but we want our way.

Lord, we know You are the way. When will we go Your way?
