Citizens of a Different Country
by Straight from the Bible
All this week, Heartlight is asking folks to pray for their nation the Heartlight online family includes people from over 180 nations. We're asking you to pray free elections in the nations of the world, to pray for our hearts to be open to God's work among the nations, and to pray for God to exercise His soverign will to do what is best for bringing people all over the world into His fold of grace! We will only be publishing Scripture text for our daily articles this week. We encourage you to use these messages from the Word of God to be your starting point for prayer. We are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. He will take these weak mortal bodies of ours and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same mighty power that he will use to conquer everything, everywhere. (Philippians 3:20-21 NLT)
You are chosen people. You are the King’s priests. You are a holy nation of people. You are people who belong to God. God chose you to tell about the wonderful things he has done. He called (brought) you out of darkness sin into his wonderful light. At one time you were not God’s people. But now you are God’s people. In the past you had never received mercy. But now you have received mercy from God.
