u-biq-ui-tous adj. \U-biq’-ui-tous\, Existing or being everywhere, or in all places, at the same time.

In a world of pervasive bad news, wouldn’t you like to have some good news?

In a world of repeated disappointments, wouldn’t you like to have something to anticipate?

In a world of escalating fear, wouldn’t you like to have the assurance that things are going to turn out okay?

In a world of mounting racial, ethnic, and religious hatred, wouldn’t you like to get a glimpse of genuine harmony and lasting peace?

Well let me share with you a promise from long ago, given in times that were tougher than our own. It is a promise about a transformation that reaches to the ends of the earth and reaches to the very core of our soul. It is a promise about the triumph of God’s grace and glory.

As the waters fill the sea, so the earth will be filled with people who know the LORD. (Isaiah 11:9)

There will come a time when the knowledge of the LORD will be ubiquitous. He will be revered and obeyed. His name will be honored. His righteousness will be appreciated. His Word will be upheld. His people will be blessed. His chosen one will rule.

There will come a time when the knowledge of the LORD will be ubiquitous.
That was God’s promise given through Isaiah many years ago. While the exact nature and the exact time of the fulfillment of this prophecy have been widely debated for hundreds of years, one thing is not debated: the knowledge of God will be everywhere. People will know God — really know him — and that knowledge will not just be the possession of a few faithful ones. It will radiate and cover the earth just as the waters fill the seas and the seas cover the earth.

I look forward to that day. I look forward to sharing the reverent joy of heaven’s angels as we know and celebrate the presence of our great God with people of different races and cultures and languages. I pray that day comes soon. But, until that day, I hope you will join me in a covenant of hope and anticipation. I hope you will pledge with me to do all you can to reverence the name of God, to reflect the character of God, and to share the grace of God with those around us. As we do, we will find that the Kingdom of God has dawned among us and that we have begun to see the first beautiful rays of heaven’s glory. Yes, it is a far cry to its final glory, but it is a reminder that one day the knowledge of heaven’s glory, heaven’s grace, and heaven’s God will be ubiquitous!

After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white and held palm branches in their hands. And they were shouting with a mighty shout, “Salvation comes from our God on the throne and from the Lamb!” Revelation 7:9-10
