Moving On
by Mark Waltenbaugh I dont mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection! But I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me to be. No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven. (Philippians 3:12-14) Life in the Spirit will call us to move on. There will be times when well have to give up the pursuit of something we desire but dont ever seem to attain a spiritual gift, a specific job, a ministry, a relationship. It doesnt mean the search wasnt worth while, it simply means that its time to move on.
Life is about movement. God is too. Each day we have a new perspective, and possibly a different directive. Knowing this fact of life will help us face each with new hope of developing in our world and in our relationship with our God! There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven. A time to search, and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep, and a time to throw away. (Ecclesiastes 3:1,6 NASB) Lord, help us to know the time for each and be able to move on. In Jesus name. Amen.
