You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my every thought when far away.
You chart the path ahead of me
and tell me where to stop and rest.
Every moment you know where I am.
I can never escape from your spirit!
I can never get away from your presence!
If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I go down to the place of the dead, you are there.
If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me.
(From Psalm 139 NLT)
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death cant, and life cant. The angels cant, and the demons cant. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell cant keep Gods love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (From Romans 8 NLT)
One of the hottest new technologies for tracking supply chain resources is called RFID. RFID units have been widely used in managing supplies and resources for both the war and the delivery of aid to Afghanistan. So what is an RFID?
Glad you asked. An RFID is a Radio Frequency IDentification Tag that is placed in a container that is being shipped. An RFID receiver can read them and global positioning satellites can even help track some kinds of them, so that at any given time, those in charge can know exactly where that container is. Theyre never lost. Their location is always known.
The real One in Charge always knows our position.
As a parent, I think we ought to make RFIDs mandatory implants in our children! Wouldnt it be great? Our kids might wander off, but we could always locate them. Im not sure if that would be better when they are toddlers or when they are teens!
One of our great comforts as Gods people is that the real One in Charge always knows our position. We dont have to have an RFID, he always knows where we are. That doesnt just apply to location, but also emotion and spirit. A sparrow doesnt fall without his notice. (Matthew 10:29) He even knows the number of hairs on our head. (Luke 12:6-7) Most important of all, from the moment of our conception until the day we go to be with him, God knows about us, the whereabouts of us, and the place of our heart. (Psalm 139:13-16)
Despite how we may feel, regardless of what circumstances may suggest, our Father in heaven knows, sees, and cares. Even when our heart doubts his loving presence and care, God is greater than our hearts and gives us reassurance through his Spirit. (1 John 3:20) So as we journey on into this New Year, with even a little luster off the bloom our new start and with the cold of winter gathering about us, lets not forget the truth that David shared in Psalm 139 and that Paul reiterated in Romans 8. We are not alone. We are not forgotten. We are not separated from the one who loves us. We have a heavenly RFID. All thats really left of us is to invite him in and let him have our heart.
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life. (From Psalm 139 NLT)
I am the one who corrects and disciplines everyone I love. Be diligent and turn from your indifference.
Look! Here I stand at the door and knock. If you hear me calling and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal as friends. I will invite everyone who is victorious to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne. (From Revelation 3 NLT)
