I believe —
    that just because two people argue,
    it doesn’t mean they don’t love each other
    and just because they don’t argue,
    it doesn’t mean they do.

I believe —
    that all couples disagree about all the same basic issues —
    money, kids, sex, housework, in-laws and time.
    The difference between the successful and unsuccessful couples
    Is how they handle their differences.

I believe —
    if you don’t ever want to get hurt,
    you shouldn’t ever love.

I believe —
    that our background and circumstances
    may have influenced who we are and our marriage,
    but we are ultimately responsible for who we become.

I believe —
    if the day starts off badly, or the business day ends all wrong,
    we still have a choice how we act and react to our mates.

I believe —
    on the other side of conflict resolved successfully
    is a doorway leading to deeper intimacy.

I believe —
    that a “love that lasts forever” is possible,
    no matter what my circumstances.

I believe —
    that “I can do everything through him who gives me strength”
    (Philippians 4:13)
