Several years ago in East Tennessee, Norris Dam was constructed. As part of the huge network today called the Tennessee Valley Authority, Norris Dam was one of many projects designed to bring electric power to the rural south. Shortly after the dam was in operation, a night worker remarked how strange it was to see nearby cabins still being lighted by kerosene lamps. Although the people were living within the shadow of the greatest source of electric power in the region, they were not yet connected to it.
What a tragic statement from the pen of John. The light source of the world was among mankind and they didn't plug into that power source. Is it any wonder that so many people are living in the dark, using the artificial power source of the world and never really enjoying the light of the world? Today tap into the power source that lights the world -- Jesus. |
