    Someone has calculated that we spend twenty-five years working, twenty-five years sleeping, seven years playing, six years eating, five years getting ready, three years waiting and one year on the telephone. Of course for some people, the telephone figure would have to be higher! When you add up the way that you spend your lifetime, you may think, “I don’t have the time for what I want to do.”

    Many of us feel like that rabbit in Alice in Wonderland who always ran around looking at his watch and exclaiming, “I’m late, I’m late, I’m late for a very important date!”

The most valuable commodity for us in today’s world is time.

    The most valuable commodity for us in today’s world is time. People are very careful how they spend their free time and what they will be getting involved with. We can’t really use time. All of us have the same amount each day of the week. All that we can do is manage time the time we have. That means we must decide what is most important, then pursue it with passion, determination, and integrity — that is what time management is all about!

    Paul reminded the Ephesian believers that they should “walk circumspectly not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” (Ephesians 5:15-17)

    Paul’s teacing on time management stresses that we must begin with an understanding what God’s will is for our lives. When we order our lives according to God’s will, then we have our priorities in place and we can spend our time wisely. So let Paul remind you to ask yourself, “How I spending my time these days? Am I redeeming the time or frittering it away?”
