Our good associate minister Jamie Shell was elected President of the county youth baseball league this past year. So in honor of Mr. Shell, I wanted to share with you, our readers, the story of the young aspiring Little League pitcher. He knew he was in trouble when the Little League coach approached the mound and said, Son, I think Id better have someone relieve you.
I know, said the coach emphatically. but this is the same inning. Sometimes our perspective on ourselves and of the situations we find ourselves in is all wrong. We lose focus and start seeing ourselves in a greater light than we should. Paul reminds us, I tell each of you not to think you are better than you really are. Use good sense and measure yourself by the amount of faith that God has given you (Romans 12:3 CEV). How do you look? And remember to answer that as God sees you, not as you see yourself! |
